Harav Yisroel Plutchok זצ״ל

Ever since founding Yeshiva Derech Chaim along with HaRav Mordechai Rennert זצ״ל, his brother in law and fellow talmid of HaRav Scheinberg זצ״ל, Rav Yisroel has been a dynamic force behind the Yeshiva. An esteemed talmid chacham, Rav Yisroel’s determination to help any yid, knew no bounds. Rav Yisroel lived and breathed Torah and chessed. Rav Plutchok delivered several incisive shiurim a day for decades, and up until his petirah  delivered a daily Gemara and Halacha shiur. Still, Rav Yisroel always has the desire to help any yid, let alone a talmid, in any matter, to the greatest extent possible.

Harav Mordechai Rennert זצ״ל

Yeshiva Derech Chaim would not have achieved its current success without the mentorship and guidance of Rav Mordechai Rennert, זצ״ל. His connection and caring for each and every talmid was evident in everything he did. Rav Mordechai gave his heart and soul to the Yeshiva, and Baruch Hashem, his efforts have paid off. The success of the Yeshiva is largely due to the warmth, care and love he showered on the talmidim. He treated every talmid like his only son, and his achievements are far-reaching and unfathomable. Yeshiva Derech Chaim is what it is today, due to the selflessness and devotion of Rav Mordechai, זצ״ל.

HaRav Chaim Rennert שליט״א

Rosh Yeshiva

HaRav Chaim Rennert assumed the position of Rosh Yeshiva following the petirah of his father, HaRav Mordechai זצ״ל. Leading such a large Yeshiva comes with countless responsibilities. However, Rav Chaim continues giving the same daily first seder shiur he has given for nearly two decades, primarily for newer bachurim, in addition to various shiurim over Shabbosim and Yomim Tovim. Most of all, as busy as he is, the Rosh Yeshiva maintains the same friendliness and accessibility towards talmidim and alumni that he has had in previous years.

HaRav Reuven Rennert שליט״א

Rosh Yeshiva

Rabbi Rennert has been delivering a daily halacha shiur for many years, and he began delivering a weekly Iyun chabura following the petirah of his father, the Rosh Yeshiva zt”l. His eyes sparkle as he describes the essence of a Derech Chaim rebbi: “It is not an ‘approach’ to have such devotion to talmidim. The Derech Chaim rebbi genuinely cares so much that the talmid should succeed; his devotion is as natural as that of a father to son.”

HaRav Shalom Plutchok שליט״א

Rosh Yeshiva

A soft spoken, yet inspirational, leader, sought after for his wise counsel, Rabbi Plutchok delivers chaburos on the Masechta and halacha b’iyun to Kollel yungerleit. He also serves as Rav of Khal Tomchei Torah. “I grew up seeing how my father stops at nothing to help any talmid,” he recounts.

HaRav Moshe Plutchok שליט״א

Rosh Yeshiva

A prominent, charismatic posek and Rav of Congregation Shaarey Torah of Manhattan Beach, Rabbi Plutchok leads high level halacha chaburos that have enabled many bachurim and yungerleit to gain vast knowledge in Yoreh Deah. Some have become official poskim. “Mastering complex areas of halacha is a game changer for many,” he says. “It offers a special ‘substance’ to the learning.”
